Egypt holds a prominent regional and international position in the outsourcing industry after successfully attracting significant investments, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hindi said, projecting that the sector’s exports will reach $12 billion by 2030.
In an exclusive interview on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, with Egypt’s Channel One television, Hindi said Egypt currently has 280 outsourcing centers employing 200,000 young people, with 80% of their services dedicated to exports. He added that Egypt’s digital strategy is centered on citizens and aims to improve their quality of life.
The strategy is expected to create around 200,000 jobs by 2030, half of them high-value-added positions in artificial intelligence, helping citizens secure higher incomes. Hindi said the government also plans to empower 250 startups capable of competing in the market and operating in AI, while leveraging its applications in sectors such as education and healthcare.
Regarding public services, the minister said fiber-optic cables would be extended to more than 55% of homes and establishments by 2030. All governorates will also be covered by fifth-generation (5G) networks. He added that mobile phone production would increase to 30 million devices, half of which would be exported, positioning Egypt as a regional leader in the industry.
