Chairperson of the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) Mona Rizk signed on Thursday, July 30, 2026, a contract with CEO of El Gammal Contracting Medhat Maher to connect electricity generated by wind projects in the Gulf of Suez to the national grid.
The signing ceremony was attended by Head of Central Projects Sectors at EETC Ahmed Fathi and Head of the Central Extra-High Voltage Projects Sector Zeinab Qamar. The contract, which falls under the Canal Electricity Zone, is scheduled to be completed within 12 months of its signing.
Rizk said the project comes within the framework of the ministry’s strategy to support renewable energy projects and develop the electricity transmission network to accommodate new generating capacities, thereby ensuring the security and stability of electricity supply and keeping pace with the state's transition toward clean energy.
