Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Hussein Eissa reviewed on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, progress on Egypt's national textile and spinning industry modernization project, including final preparations to complete the redevelopment of the Ghazl El Mahalla complex and ongoing works at the Damietta Spinning and Weaving Company.

During the meeting, Eissa reviewed the implementation of the project's various phases, operational performance at completed factories, and measures to address challenges and ensure the project remains on schedule. The meeting also examined progress on the redevelopment of the Misr Spinning and Weaving Company in El Mahalla El Kubra, which accounts for around 40% of the project's total investments.

Completion of the company's second and final redevelopment phase will mark the end of the second phase of the national modernization project, which also includes the new Spinning Factory 2 at Misr Shebin El Kom Spinning and Weaving Company.
