Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Hussein Issa reviewed the latest developments in the implementation of the national project for developing Egypt’s textile and garment industry, stressing the sector’s strategic importance to the national economy. During a meeting at the government headquarters in the New Capital, Issa emphasized the need to adhere to project timelines, accelerate implementation rates and ensure the efficient operation of new production facilities to maximize returns on state investments.
The meeting reviewed progress in the modernization of state-owned textile and spinning companies, including projects at Misr Spinning and Weaving Company in Mahalla El Kubra and Misr Shebin El Kom Company. Issa also highlighted the importance of expanding export markets, improving governance standards and strengthening partnerships with the private sector in management and operations to enhance efficiency, sustainability and investment attractiveness.
Participants also reviewed the project's financial status and plans aimed at supporting the state's strategy to build a modern, competitive textile industry that contributes to economic growth, job creation and export expansion.
