Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh el-Hefny, Chairman of the current session of the General Assembly of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO) has underscored the organization’s pivotal role in strengthening Arab cooperation in civil aviation and called for enhanced efforts to develop common visions on emerging issues in line with regional and international developments in the aviation industry.
The Minister made the remarks during a meeting with ACAO Director General Khalid al-Sharqawi attended by Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority President Sameh Fawzy and several organization members. The meeting addressed ways to advance joint Arab action in civil aviation and reviewed a number of issues related to the sector’s priorities for the coming period.
It was held on the sidelines of Hefny’s participation in the Marrakech Air Show 2026 in Morocco. Discussions covered training, professional qualification and the development of human and technical capacities, as well as ways to benefit from advanced international experiences to help member states keep pace with rapid developments in the aviation industry.
Hefny said Egypt would continue, during its presidency of the current General Assembly session, to support the organization’s efforts and initiatives that address member states’ needs, strengthening the standing of Arab civil aviation and its ability to adapt to the sector’s rapid transformation.
The meeting concluded with both sides affirming the importance of continued consultation and coordination on issues of mutual concern in a manner that serves member states’ interests and advances joint Arab cooperation in civil aviation.
