Chairman of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce Ayman al Ashry welcomed Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk's invitation to Turkish companies to invest in Egypt, saying it could strengthen economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. El Ashry made the remarks on Saturday, October 10, 2026, after attending a meeting between Kouchouk and Turkish investors on the sidelines of the Istanbul Economic Forum.
He said that Egypt's tax and customs incentives, improved infrastructure and strategic location could attract more Turkish investment and encourage new projects that increase production and create jobs. El Ashry also called for closer communication with Turkish investors to explore opportunities in manufacturing, industry and trade.
He said stronger business ties could also support technology transfer, local production and Egyptian exports. Additionally, el Ashry welcomed the Finance Ministry's efforts to simplify tax and customs procedures, address investors' concerns and improve the business environment.
He added that stronger economic partnerships with Turkey and other foreign markets could increase private-sector investment and support Egypt's development goals under Vision 2030.
