Minister of Awqaf Osama Al-Azhari and Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom discussed cooperation efforts between the two ministries and joint coordination across various areas to support comprehensive development efforts. The meeting was held on Friday, August 7, 2026, in the presence of Mohamed Metwally, CEO of NI Capital, a subsidiary of the National Investment Bank.
Al-Azhari stressed the importance of institutional coordination among various ministries and institutions to achieve the goal of human development pursued by the state across different fields and sectors. For his part, Rostom said NI Capital serves as the investment arm of the National Investment Bank, noting that the ministry is currently working on completing the restructuring of the bank and its affiliated entities to maximize the use of their significant capabilities and establish partnerships between them and government entities as well as the private sector to achieve the desired development goals.
The Minister of Planning and Economic Development explained that the National Investment Bank is one of the state's key development and investment arms. He added that the government is proceeding with a plan to restructure the bank, strengthen its financial position, and enhance its role in managing public resources and investments.
The plan also includes supporting its subsidiaries, including NI Capital, to promote public-private partnerships, make use of professional management expertise and available financial and investment tools, maximize returns on assets, develop entrepreneurship and startup sectors, and achieve integration with various government entities.
In this context, NI Capital CEO Mohamed Metwally reviewed the company's investment and financial instruments, its strategy for maximizing returns on managed assets, developing financial products, and building partnerships between the government and private sectors.
He highlighted the company's reliance on the extensive expertise of a qualified team, enabling it to contribute significantly to economic development, attract investments, and increase investment returns.
