The Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) has signed on Sunday, July 19, 2026, a contract with China's CITIC International to manufacture communications equipment at the AOI's Electronics Factory. The agreement was signed by Chairman of the Electronics Factory Major General Ahmed Abdel Aziz.
The deal comes as part of the AOI's leading role in localizing advanced technologies in both military and civilian electronics industries, a position that has encouraged major international companies to establish partnerships with the organization and invest in this strategic industrial sector.
AOI Chairman Major General Mokhtar Abdel Latif expressed his appreciation for the cooperation with CITIC International, saying that the partnership will focus on technology localization and deepening local manufacturing of electronic industries by leveraging the advanced production capabilities of the AOI's Electronics Factory.
He voiced hope that the AOI's factories and companies would serve as a hub for strengthening strategic cooperation, partnership and expertise exchange with CITIC International to meet domestic demand. He added that the partnership would help supply the local market with military and civilian electronic products while also opening export opportunities through globally competitive, high-quality products.
Abdel Latif said that both sides had agreed to begin the implementation phase according to a clear timetable, stressing the importance of coordinating efforts to achieve integration and partnership in areas of mutual interest. For his part, the Vice President of China's CITIC International Group expressed pride in partnering with the Arab Organization for Industrialization, describing it as Egypt's industrial backbone.
He said the cooperation represents an important step toward deepening local manufacturing and localizing advanced technologies by benefiting from the AOI's advanced manufacturing capabilities.
