The inaugural edition of the Alamein Africa Forum, hosted by New Alamein City on October 2-4, marked a new beginning for strengthening African cooperation and integration by shifting from dialogue to partnership and from promising opportunities to practical steps supporting development and economic integration across the continent.
The forum witnessed the signing of memoranda of understanding and the launch of new partnerships designed to broaden prospects for cooperation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates highlighted the forum’s outcomes in an infographic released on Saturday, October 10, 2026, emphasizing their role in strengthening partnerships, supporting development and advancing African economic integration.
The Ministry highlighted the high-level participation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, alongside a number of African leaders, ministers and officials, as well as prominent businesspeople and representatives of major African companies, foremost among them Aliko Dangote, Chairman of the Dangote Group.
The forum also hosted the African Union’s mid-year coordination meeting and the quadrilateral consultative summit involving Egypt, Eritrea, Somalia and Sudan. In addition, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Egyptian Drug Authority and its Chadian counterpart covering pharmaceutical and biological products and medical supplies.
The exhibition held alongside the forum showcased investment opportunities and Egyptian expertise across several vital sectors, strengthening connections between Egyptian and African companies and opening new avenues for economic and trade partnerships. The Ministry also highlighted memoranda of understanding signed between Egyptian institutions and their African counterparts across several fields, including trade, industry, culture, tourism, agriculture, aquaculture and the manufacture of medicines, vaccines and medical supplies.
The forum also witnessed the signing of an agreement to establish a joint higher committee between Egypt and South Africa, alongside the inaugural Egyptian-South African Business Forum. Four memoranda of understanding were signed with Equatorial Guinea covering culture, tourism, agriculture and aquaculture.
