Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk discussed with Egypt’s new Ambassador to Uganda Sherif El-Gamal ways to enhance agricultural cooperation and activate programs for transferring Egyptian expertise and providing technical support to African countries, in implementation of the political leadership’s directives to provide all forms of support to African brothers.
During the meeting on Sunday, August 23, 2026, the Minister of Agriculture affirmed that Egypt places continental cooperation at the top of its priorities. He underscored the ministry’s keenness to open new avenues for agricultural investment and trade in agricultural crops and products between the two countries, as well as expand capacity-building and training for Ugandan personnel through the Egyptian International Center for Agriculture.
For his part, Egypt’s new Ambassador to Uganda affirmed his commitment, during his upcoming tenure in Kampala, to advancing economic and agricultural relations between the two countries to broader horizons and removing obstacles to bilateral trade, in a manner that serves the common interests of both sides and supports efforts to achieve sustainable food security.
